Message From Our WM
At Alamo Lodge No. 44, the first and oldest Masonic lodge in San Antonio, we carry a legacy built by generations of men who believed that character, service, brotherhood, and truth still matter. Our duty is to honor that legacy not only by preserving it, but by living it with purpose.

This year, our theme is Excellence Through Action. We believe Masonry makes good men better when its timeless teachings are understood, practiced, and applied to the real challenges of modern life. Our goal is to create a Lodge where men of high character can find meaningful fellowship, disciplined work, thoughtful education, and opportunities to serve something greater than themselves.

To the man seeking more than ordinary association, we invite you to learn what Masonry can offer. To the Brother looking for a Lodge of purpose, warmth, and high standards, we welcome you to visit us.

A LEGACY ROOTED IN TEXAS HISTORY
Founded within the hallowed walls of the Alamo, the Shrine of Texas Liberty, Alamo Lodge No. 44 holds the distinction of being the first and oldest Masonic lodge in San Antonio and Bexar County.
Chartered by the Grand Lodge of Texas on January 15, 1848, the Lodge's origins are commemorated by a historical plaque proudly displayed on the south wall of the Alamo’s Long Barracks, marking a unique chapter in both Masonic and Texas heritage.
Our Creed
AT ALAMO LODGE NO.44, WE ARE GUIDED BY THE FOLLOWING PRINCIPLES
I. We honor God as the Supreme Good and seek His guidance in all our endeavors.
II. We preserve the sacred Ritual and uphold the time-honored traditions of Freemasonry.
III. We embrace thoughtful innovation to educate, enrich, and inspire our members.
IV. We foster a welcoming, family-friendly environment for men of all races, creeds, and walks of life.
V. We strive to remain a respected and active pillar within the San Antonio and greater Texas community.
